Nathan Van Name is a Manheim Township Commissioner candidate, drawing on years of leadership experience, community service, and a deep understanding of Township needs. Nathan has been a resident of Manheim Township since 2007 and is committed to serving his community with integrity, fiscal responsibility, and a vision for the future.
Nathan serves as Vice Treasurer for the Manheim Township Republican Committee and is the elected Committeeman for District 16. He also serves on the Manheim Township Planning Commission, where he has spent the past two years reviewing projects, shaping responsible growth, and balancing development with the preservation of community character. Additionally, he played an active role on the Township’s Comprehensive Plan Committee, contributing to a forward-looking plan that reflects both the needs and the values of Township residents.
As a commissioner candidate, Nathan is focused on addressing the issues that matter most to residents. This includes taking a proactive approach to managing traffic flow and reducing congestion, ensuring infrastructure keeps pace with growth. He is committed to balancing the township budget in a way that safeguards taxpayer dollars while still funding essential services. Nathan also believes in the urgent need to realign and stabilize the township’s underfunded EMS program to ensure long-term viability and reliable emergency response for the community.
Beyond his township service, Nathan is the Chair of the ABC Keystone Chapter’s Government Affairs Committee, serves on the Government Affairs Committee for the Building Industry Association (BIA), is Treasurer for the Associated Subcontractors of Central Pennsylvania (ASA of Central PA), and serves on the Oversight Committee for the missionary organization Dunamis Connections. His leadership roles across these diverse boards and organizations reflect his collaborative spirit and ability to bring people together to solve complex challenges.
Professionally, Nathan is the Vice President of Sales at JC Snavely and Sons, a family-owned business in the building materials industry. In this role, he not only drives growth and fosters strong customer relationships but also manages budgets and exercises fiscal responsibility, skills that directly translate to effective and responsible governance.
When not serving the community, Nathan enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie, and their four young daughters, Ana, Addy, Avery, and Aspyn. The Van Name family enjoys RVing, traveling, and cruising together. Nathan is also an accomplished pianist and keyboardist who regularly plays at LCBC.
